Terms of Service
Last updated 5 August 2026
These terms govern your use of KindGifts, a medical crowdfunding platform operated by Sebeccly Cancer Care. By creating an account, starting a campaign or making a donation, you agree to them.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Campaigns may be raised on behalf of a minor or another adult, provided you disclose the relationship and the beneficiary consents.
2. Campaigns must be true
Every campaign is reviewed before it goes live. You agree that the medical need, diagnosis, treatment plan, costs and documents you submit are accurate and relate to you or the named beneficiary. Submitting altered invoices, duplicated bills or fabricated diagnoses is grounds for permanent removal and, where funds were raised, referral to law enforcement.
3. Verification and approval
- Campaigns remain invisible to donors until an administrator approves them.
- We may require a virtual consultation, a guarantors’ form, or clinical confirmation from a partner hospital before approving or disbursing.
- We may decline any campaign at our discretion, and we are not obliged to explain a declination beyond the reason recorded on your dashboard.
4. Use of funds
Funds raised must be spent on the medical need described in the campaign. Where a partner hospital is named, KindGifts pays that hospital directly and you never handle the money. Where funds are paid to a beneficiary account, you agree to submit a disbursement report with receipts.
Once a campaign passes ₦500,000 in donations, a completed guarantors’ form is required before any further release.
5. Donations are gifts, not purchases
A donation is a voluntary gift. It is not a loan, an investment, or the purchase of goods or services, and it carries no expectation of return. Donations are generally non-refundable once disbursed. If you believe a campaign is fraudulent, contact us and we will investigate — where funds have not yet been released we will attempt to reverse them.
6. Fees
KindGifts does not charge patients a platform fee. Payment processing fees charged by our payment partner are deducted from each donation, and these are disclosed on the pricing section of our How It Works page. Voluntary contributions toward platform operations are always optional.
7. Partner hospitals
Partner hospitals agree to verify clinical indications, treatment plans and invoices truthfully through the partner portal, and to apply funds received to the named patient’s care. Certification as a partner may be withdrawn at any time.
8. Prohibited conduct
- Impersonating another person, hospital or organisation.
- Uploading documents belonging to someone who has not consented.
- Using the platform to launder funds or to solicit for a non-medical purpose.
- Attempting to circumvent verification, or interfering with the platform.
9. Account suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and may freeze disbursement while we investigate. Where a campaign is closed for fraud, undisbursed donations are returned to donors wherever practicable.
10. Liability
KindGifts verifies campaigns diligently but does not guarantee any medical outcome, the completion of any fundraising goal, or the conduct of any user. To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you donated or the fees you paid.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Questions about them can be sent to us through our contact page.
